Lexi Vaganos Returns To Forge

Local singer-songwriter Lexi Vaganos returned to Forge Recording to work on her new single, I’m Here. She worked with Forge Recording Lead Engineer Ron DiSilvestro in Studio A. Lexi has performed at local Philly venues such as the Tin Angel and World Cafe Live. Check out Lexi’s version of Fly Me To The Moon by Frank Sinatra filmed here at Forge Recording.

Lexi graduated from the Forge Recording Singer-Songwriter Program with John Faye, and recorded her first self-titled EP here at Forge. She believes Forge’s Singer-Songwriter Program played a key role in being accepted into USC’s music program, stating I was able to gain valuable instruction, and the experience of working with industry producers and engineers in a professional recording studio.

Lexi is also featured in two songs, You Only Get What You Take and Neutral is Reverse, on Pretty Digital’s new album The More You Scratch, The Longer It Takes to Heal, which was also recorded at Forge.

Music Publishing Goes Live

Forge Recording’s Live Events Team hit the road to record four classical pieces performed by The Bucks County Wind Ensemble. Our client, Northeastern Music Publications, is a publisher of sheet music for bands and orchestras. Forge Recording provides a multi-track recording and mixing of the musical arrangements.

On the Steppes of Central Asia

Northeastern’s most recent offerings include On the Steppes of Central Asia by Alexander Borodin, Fantasie on the traditional Chinese folk song A Beaded Purse, Golden Age by Yu Jianfang, and Swarm Theory by Gary Fagan. The works were arranged by Dr. Randy Navarre who will be traveling to China to perform some of the pieces with local middle school students.

Audio Engineer Brendan McGeehan recorded the ensemble on location, while Forge Recording Lead Engineer Ron DiSilvestro mixed and mastered the recordings in Studio A.

final-insert-frontPastor Richard Kyerematen contacted Forge Recording with a seemingly impossible task–to mix and master 10 songs and manufacture 150 market-ready CDs in just 4 days. With all of these capabilities under one roof, Forge Recording jumped right in. Lead engineer Ron DiSilvestro mixed and mastered the tracks on Tuesday and Wednesday, while the production team prepared the graphics for the CDs. The True Light Christmas CDs, with full-color discs, inserts, tray cards and shrinkwrap, were in the client’s hands by Friday, in time for their Christmas service.

Forge Recording is no stranger to full-service, quick turn recording and duplication projects. For the Westminster Presbyterian Church Choir’s annual “Christmas Joy” concert, Forge does an on-location multi-track recording on Sunday, mixes and masters on Monday, and has 600 market-ready CDs ready by Thursday. For St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, the CD was recorded, mixed and mastered in Forge Recording’s world-class studios, resulting in manufactured CDs in jewel cases and DigiPaks.

From Concert to CD in 5 days

December marks an annual tradition at Forge Recording–the Westminster Presbyterian Church Christmas concert recording.

Since 2008, Forge Recording’s staff has recorded West Chester’s Westminster Presbyterian Church Choir‘s annual “Christmas Joy” concerts on location. This year, the 120+ piece choir celebrated its 25th annual Christmas Joy season and sold out five shows for thousands of visitors.

Forge Recording’s Brendan McGeehan was there to record two of the performances. McGeehan recorded 28 tracks that lead engineer Ron DiSilvestro mixed and mastered in Forge Recording’s Studio A the following day. Within 5 days of the concert, Forge’s team produced 600 market-ready CDs in shrinkwrap for the church to share.

Westminster Presbyterian Church is one of many church choirs who have visited our studios and/or engaged us to record them on location. Learn more here about how we can help you record your organization’s live concert.
