Recorded and mixed by Ron DiSilvestro at Forge Recording.
Not many artists have their first gig playing to their kindergarten class at snack time. For Kailey Prall, performing was always her passion, even at an incredibly young age. As Kailey honed her skills over her many years of performing, she finally played her first official show at age 12. From then on, she began to explore many different genres and began to write her own original music. Drawing from artists such as Adele, Switchfoot, and Norah Jones, Kailey has created her own style of music that is reminiscent of singer songwriting, while incorporating elements of Jazz and Folk.
Kailey aspires to extend the scope of the singer songwriter genre by bringing her own unique edge to the genre. Kailey’s music borrows from many different genres, while still staying true to the main focus of her music, the lyrics. Inspired by many of her favorite authors and poets, such as Silvia Plath and Jodi Picoult, Kailey’s lyrics are a reflection of who she is and her life’s experiences. Kailey had the opportunity to develop her lyrical technique while working with Bonnie Hayes, the Chairman of Songwriting at the Berklee School of Music.
In addition to frequently playing the circuit of her local scene, Doylestown, Kailey has begun to perform her music across the country. Recently, she captivated a packed audience with an hour long set at the historic Peter Nappi Studios in Nashville, Tennessee. Kailey also recently entered the college music scene by playing to a thrilled crowd at the Penn State Relay for Life.
Recently, Kailey took her songwriting to the next level and recorded five original songs at Forge Recording in Oreland, PA. The EP is Kailey’s first recorded effort and features her singing and playing the guitar and piano. The songs capture Kailey’s diverse musical pallet as they feature songs ranging from full jazz brass section to stripped down acoustic songs. Kailey plans to extensively promote her latest self titled EP and share her music across the country as she pursues her passion of performance.
