Center for Literacy Features Shirley Alston Reeves

Forge Recording provided live sound for The Center for Literacy‘s 50th Anniversary “Black-Tie to Bell Bottoms” gala at the Pyramid Club in Philadelphia. Headlining the event was Rock and Roll Hall of Fame singer Shirley Alston Reeves of The Shirelles. Forge Recording lead engineer Ron DiSilvestro and Studio Manager Robbie Simmons engineered the event.

The gala also highlighted the inspiring story of Jean Zigani, a Center for Literacy English as a Second Language (ESL) student. The Center for Literacy began as a volunteer tutoring program in 1968 and helps a diverse population of learners meet their needs and achieve their personal and employment-related goals.
